How secure is your website?

E-LOAN uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology supporting up to 128-bit encryption to prevent unauthorized parties from viewing any personal information transmitted to or from E-LOAN during your session. These security measures are fully outlined in our Privacy & Security Policies.

Do I need a special computer for this?

No, you will not need any special software or hardware. However, because we utilize the highest security technology available, the browser you are using must support 128-bit encryption and have JavaScript enabled. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at deposits@eloan.com.

Will I need to change banks?

No. Your E-LOAN account is linked to your personal checking or savings account with another US Financial institution (excluding non-state US territory and possessions). You will be able to transfer money between your new E-LOAN account and your existing bank account.

How can I add or withdraw money from my E-LOAN account?

It's easy. Simply transfer funds in or out of your account through your linked account. Please allow up to 2-3 business days for the transaction to complete. For security purposes, we will not allow any withdrawals from your E-LOAN account to be made by an outside institution.

What do you mean by a "linked" account?

This refers to your existing checking or savings account, which we link to your new E-LOAN account to facilitate transfers.

How do I verify my new E-LOAN account?

If your external account requires verification, we will place two small deposits into it, and a link for verifying this information will appear on your E-LOAN Account Summary page.

To complete this verification, simply:

  • Log on to your account at http://savings.eloan.com/savings
  • Click on "Verify" (next to your account number)
  • Enter the amounts of the deposits
  • Press "Verify"

Please note: Your initial deposit will be immediately withdrawn from your external account.

However, if you do not validate your account within 30 days, we will close it and return the initial deposit, including any interest earned, to your external account. You may change your external account every 60 days.

How do I access my account?

It's very easy. Simply log in using the Username and Password you entered when you first opened your account. To further ensure your security, please note that three unsuccessful login attempts will lock your account. To unlock it, you will need to call an associate for assistance at 1-866-576-7283 Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Pacific Time.

Will I receive a statement?

Yes. Online Statements are issued electronically each quarter for savings and annually for CDs. You can also see 90 days of transaction history any time online. Your statement will reflect all savings accounts that you have with us. Please note that we do not issue paper statements.

Are there limits to the number of saving account withdrawals or deposits?

Savings Plus account withdrawals are limited to six per calendar month. However, you are free to make unlimited deposits into your online account from your linked account.

Can I make deposits into my E-LOAN account by mail?

In order to pass along the maximum amount of savings to you, our Savings Plus accounts can only accept online transfers from your linked account.

Are E-LOAN accounts FDIC insured?

All deposit products offered through E-LOAN, Inc. (E-LOAN) will be opened through Banco Popular North America (BPNA), a FDIC-member institution and a New York state chartered bank insured by the FDIC that is the direct parent company of E-LOAN (i.e. E-LOAN is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BPNA). Processing services are provided by BPNA. All deposits with BPNA are insured for the maximum amount allowed by law, and all balances on deposit with BPNA (whether directly or through E-LOAN) would be combined for purposes of determining FDIC coverage eligibility. Beginning January 1, 2013, all of a depositor's accounts at an insured depository institution, including all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts, will be insured by the FDIC up to the standard maximum deposit insurance amount ($250,000), for each deposit insurance ownership category. For more information about FDIC insurance coverage, visit http://www.fdic.gov/deposit/covered/.

How do I access my money?

The personal checking or savings account that you use to make your initial deposit becomes your linked (or external funding) account. You can log on to our site to access your account information and transfer funds electronically between your online account and your linked account. Transfers are made via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) and usually take 2-3 business days. You can access your account information at www.eloan.com anytime, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How do I make deposits into my E-LOAN account?

All deposits and withdrawals are done securely online. Deposits and withdrawals pass between your linked funding (checking or savings) account via the Automated Clearing House (ACH), which usually takes 2-3 days to clear transfers.

How long does it take for funds I withdraw from my account to appear in my linked account?

Funds transferred via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) usually take from 2-3 business days, depending upon the time of day you initiated your transfer. This is true for all external transfers in or out of the account.

When are deposits available for withdrawal?

For security reasons, no withdrawals can be made until the initial deposit verification process finalizes. Please ensure your funds are in your external account before opening your E-LOAN account. Upon completion of your application, your initial deposit will be withdrawn electronically. Your funds will then be available for withdrawal 5 business days after deposit.

How do you calculate interest?

Interest on your account is compounded daily and credited monthly. For more details, see our Terms and Conditions.

How do you verify linked accounts?

To verify your account and help ensure your security, we will make two small deposits into your current external account. This will happen shortly after you open your E-LOAN account. After this occurs, please log into your E-LOAN account and enter the deposits' amounts. You cannot make any changes to your account until you verify these deposits. For your security, if this does not occur within 30 days, your account will be closed and your funds will be returned, along with any accrued interest.

What types of deposits do you accept?

We only accept funds by ACH (Automated Clearing House) through your linked account. Deposits in the form of checks, wires or cash will be returned.

May I directly link my account to my mortgage/vehicle payment?

For your security, we do not allow debits that originate from outside your linked account.

How do I change my interest payment method?

To change the interest payment method for your CD, simply:

  • Log into your account at http://savings.eloan.com/savings
  • Click "My Profile" on the left
  • Check the "... Interest Payment Method" checkbox
  • Select an account, an interest payment method, and click "Continue"

Please allow 2-3 business days to process your request. This change becomes effective at your next interest cycle.
